| What
happens if someone tries to break in?
The
feature that significantly sets the MyKey 2300 apart from conventional
door locks is the removal of the common metal keyhole. Metal keys,
no matter how complex, can be picked by an expert and are vulnerable
as a result. The MyKey 2300 eliminates the possibility of lock-picking
from the start by removing the conventional keyhole, and allowing
only authorized RFID cards, or a single pin code to gain access
to the door. If someone attempts to use the wrong pin code or RFID
card three times in a row, the lock will automatically shut down
for 30 seconds before allowing another attempt at unlocking the
door!
The MyKey 2300 isn't your average deadbolt for more reasons than
one. For instance, it alerts you if it doesn't lock correctly. Imagine
this: you press a single button to lock your home with a heavy-duty
deadbolt, but for some reason, the door was not properly shut and
the lock cannot engage. As you're walking away, a noise alerts your
that your door is, in fact, not properly locked! In addition, if
the lock does not properly engage and you walk away without hearing
the alarm, the door will sound the built-in alarm system the next
time it is opened, deterring any would-be intruders. The MyKey 2300
actually knows if the door was opened when you didn't want it to
be- now that's intelligence put to good use.
So what happens if someone kicks down the door and breaks the deadbolt?
The same thing that would happen with any other lock or deadbolt.
The MyKey 2300 is not any more susceptible to malfunction than any
other lock. The MyKey 2300 will always do what it's supposed to
do - lock your door.
